Walking through the archway, I marvelled at a beauty so colourful, nothing could match it . I stand, eyes wide open. Lights hover from every angle and colours are so bright, at first they blind me. Slowly, I adjust my sight, and marvel at its beauty. Fireflies glow, leading the way home.
As a child I visited this place often.
Why had I left it so long to return? I wasn’t sure, but now I was here it was like I had never been away. In the far corner, a tree, full of golden pears, so sweet you could never stop at one.
I move quietly, beyond the tree with no name; beyond the tree, which grows beneath. It holds a fairy doorway, and magic leads the way. Trails of golden dust slip between my fingers like the shifting sands of time.
‘One, two, three, reveal the opening to me,’ I say.
As the door opens, I shrink back into the earth. My human form evaporates and I am no more than an inch tall. In my hands is a key like no other. Made of the strongest oak, with markings of my ancestors.
I twist the key to the left, then to the right. At first it is stuck, but the more I concentrate on an open door, the more it turns. I am able to open the door and reveal my home inside.
Magical storytelling! Love it. 🙂✨✨✨✨
