My Take On #Rena’s Prompt

PROMPT #215

The words to lead your piece for this week are

  1. unknowable
  2. unexplainable

Hundreds of years ago so many things were unexplainable and unknowledgeable.

Now we have more information about how things work, and Science has given us many insights on the world. We now understand about how radio waves work, can explain why coffee will diffuse more easily in hot water than cold. We understand how our coastline is depleting because of soil erosion, and perhaps one day we will find out out to stop it from happening so quickly in some parts of the UK.

I wonder if someone from the 1800 time travelled to our time, how they would be enthralled and a little bit scared of our technology. If we told them that a mobile phone, no bigger than their hand, would be able to talk to someone thousands of miles across the globe they wouldn’t believe us.

The same with a computer, they would be a little bit scared that we can type in a question, and get the answer from a computer we can put on our laps. Technology is ever changing, and none of us know what it will be like.

From me being a young girl to now, I have witnessed flat screen TV’s, CD’s, Downloads, 3D televisions (never really took off). Perhaps in ten years we will put on a headset and watch TV that way. We will be like zombies, and rather than living in the real world, we will be living in a virtual one.

We will definitely learn more about how the world works, and what would have been supernatural would now be Science.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
