Two Front Teeth

Written for https://lindaghill.com/2026/01/12/daily-prompt-jusjojan-the-12th-2026/

I broke my front tooth when I ate a hard sweet.

Anything chewy; I avoid now.

I work at a school, and some teenagers found it funny when I was trying to help them with their work. However, I looked strange, with a gap where the tooth should have been.

There aren’t many NHS dentists taking on new customers, but I found a private dentist willing to take on new clients. I wasn’t sure the filling would work, but he did a brilliant job.

I have my smile and confidence back.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Glad you could get your tooth fixed. I broke one of my front bottom teeth out when I was a kid, and they put a silver cap on what was left of it. I had that silver tooth for many years. 🙂
