Self Publishing Advice

You’ve finished your manuscript. Had it beta read and sent to an editor. You are happy with the results.

What do you do now?

It is easy and free to self publish your book. Avoid any company that charge you to publish. From my experience you pay the money, and see nothing much in return. Being on Amazon doesn’t mean your book is marketed correctly. The same can still be said for Kindle, Lulu, or any other sites, but you haven’t paid anything either.

However, think before you self publish. Most agents and publishers don’t like self published authors. It is unfair, There are so many great books there, but there are some terrible ones too.

So, before you self publish – submit your query. You will need to write a cover letter and a synopsis of your book. It isn’t easy. I had an editor help me with mine. Once you’ve done this, do your research. Not every agent, or publisher will fit in with your genre,

Query for at least a year before you self publish.
