Gift

When Ida discovered that she could hear voices of the dead speaking to her when she tuned into a certain radio station, she decided to find out more about the gift she had been given.

It was her father she heard first, his calming voice, telling her not to be afraid – especially of death. There wasn’t a cloud, where winged angels resided, but there were angels on earth.

He was here, as a guide, to tell her what she could do next.

‘Do angels exist? Does God?’

‘Not in the way you understand, there are many, who walk on this earth as angels. It could be any creature, with a sense of loyalty to those around them.’

‘Do animals turn into angels?’

‘Animals are angels, there are also humans walking on the earth, able to move from one place to another. Only for a short time, as their lessons are brought into the future, where we need all the help we can get.’

‘Time travel?’ It was a question she wasn’t sure of, but there were times when she thought she had seen before. A church, a pub, or even the first house she moved to.

Talking to him again, she had so many questions. Were her family together? Did they watch over her? She imagined, so many time she wasn’t alone. They were keeping her safe, helping when they could.

It was a comfort, and now, as she took the next step in her journey, she hoped her gift would help others talk to loved ones. Messages passed to those who felt alone, to give them the strength of mind to fight their fears.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
