This week’s question from https://fivedotoh.com/2023/07/05/fandangos-provocative-question-221/
Do I read audio books? Not really, I do prefer the feel of a book, turning the pages, and reading the next page. I can’t really listen in the bath, which is where I read most of my books. However, I do use the audio, when listening to my own WIP’s. It helps me to find where I have made mistakes. A sentence can sound wrong, or I notice there isn’t the right punctuation.
I am old school when it comes to books – even with a Kindle, I find them annoying. You can lose yourself in a story, when read in your mind. I’m not quite sure how it works, but even on a long journey back from a school trip, I lost half an hour because I was reading a story written by someone at my writing group.
I would rather watch a marathon though, as I am not built for running. I get out of puff walking up a hill, let alone running twenty six miles. Reading a book is like immersing yourself in the sea, but listening to a book is just going for a swim in shallow waters.
I get you. I’d rather read it myself.

I think it is because of my age, and audio wasn’t really around then.

That’s true. I am a fast reader and hence don’t have the patience for someone else to read it to me

I love audiobooks, but being blind, I have to use audio, or kindle, as I am unable to read visual print!
