Patron Saint

The patron saint of travellers, a keepsake she kept of her dad was always with her. She remembered their talks, when she found the world to be a little daunting to live in. He was the only person, who didn’t judge, and understood when her moods were low.

It was a frightening day, but her job interview was definitely a step in the right direction. She wasn’t sure why she wanted to work in a library, but it was a peaceful place, around the words she loved so much.

Staring at the silver necklace, his hazel eyes sparkled. She remembered sitting by him, talking about his own memories. They preferred to be forgotten, but he spoke of them anyway. It was the same with her, but she found courage in his advice.

The silver, cool on her skin, today was going to be a good day. The sun, no longer hiding behind clouds, shone bright. When life had its own journey to take, his positivity shone through. Everything was going to be okay.
