Taking a picture of her drink, Clara posted a picture of two drinks, like she was having a great time with friends. One click and she posted the picture, getting twenty likes. One commented, ”they look great”. It was impossible not to take pictures of dinner, and the strangers around her.
She completed both drinks, and hoped the alcohol would dull her senses. There was nothing about her life that was interesting. She lived with her parents, couldn’t even afford to buy or rent a flat.
Twitter was the only place there were any friends; even her Tic Toc videos were getting rave reviews. It would have been good to have someone to talk to, but between working in an office, surrounded by paperwork, and looking after her parents there wasn’t time for friends.
Another check for likes, she put her phone in her bag.
‘Hey Clara, remember me, we went to school together,’ Sally said, giving her a wave. ‘It’s been ages, do you fancy a drink?’
‘Sally, it has been a long time, perhaps we could have a tea though, I have to be home soon, and I can’t drink as I am her main carer.’
She went to snap a picture of her friend, but put her phone away in her pocket.
