No Sports Day

This week from https://pensitivity101.wordpress.com/2023/08/21/share-your-world-21st-august/

1.   Have you ever been fishing? (not just for the guys as I have!) I went fishing once, when some students in my primary school went for the day. Will I do it again? No. It isn’t my idea of fun, sitting in the rain, just waiting for a fish.
2.  Do you prefer to watch football, rugby, tennis or hockey on TV? My husband watches football (Chelsea Fan). I will sometimes watch football if it is the World Cup, or European Cup, both for men and for women.
3.  Have you ever ice skated? A long time ago, I ice-skated when I was with the guides. I spent most of my time holding on to the side until I got my confidence.
4.  Did you enjoy sports at school? No, not in the slightest. I hated running, and broke the high jump pole the first time I attempted it. When I threw a javelin, most people stood behind me. I was dangerous with a hockey stick and a shotput. At school, the only race I did well in was the fun run. I’ve not been a sporty person at all, not as a child or as an adult. Luckily my children were the same and I didn’t have to watch football on a Sunday.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Thanks for joining in Diana. I wasn’t sporty at grammar school but loved to run when I was 8 or so. A girl in my class then was the same height as me and we were unstoppable in the three legged race on sports day!
