Traipsing round the shops with my daughter is a frightening thing – especially for my bank balance. She definitely should have been born into a rich family, as her eclectic tastes (anything Halloween or Christmas) are expensive.
For example at this time of year she will go into T K Max, browsing for any new intakes of pumpkins and spooky things. Christmas, are more baubles, and presents (mostly to go into our stockings) Dogs, and cats are not exempt from this, as they have their own stockings. My old dog Scamp, used to see his and was like an excited child, not able to stop himself from ripping open his presents.
When I go out with my (32) year old girl, she has x ray vision when it comes to a bargain. Now, her daughter is just the same. Even at the little age of three, she will show me things, pointing them out with a ”I love you Grannie”.
Not that I mind spending time with them, they grow up all too soon, and spending time is something I enjoy doing. It’s just my bank balance doesn’t agree. Yesterday I managed to spend thirty pounds, and only a third of that was for myself. I did get a couple of stocking fillers for Christmas.
Although this year we are not going to buy as much for my granddaughter. Do you think if I say it enough times that will be true? Probably not. It’s just, she is so easy to buy for. The same cannot be said for my son, or my daughter, or myself for that matter.
