Autumn

Now that autumn is here, and October is almost upon us, what are you looking forward to over the course of the next three months? The weather finally cooling down, so I can wear my jumpers and cardigans. When it is hot, there is no relief, but when it is cold, you can always add layers. I love a good jumper because of the comfort they bring to a cold day.

My granddaughter is three in October, and my grandson is sixteen. We will celebrate their birthdays with cake and presents. Although, I haven’t got a clue what to buy as a birthday present for the teenager. My granddaughter is getting a fish tank, with tropical fish. She is easy to buy for. We also have Halloween. We may not celebrate it like the USA, but I love going trick or treating with my daughter and granddaughter. This year they are both witches.

Of course, there is my birthday, and Christmas.

I love the lead up to Christmas, going out and buying gifts for loved ones. We don’t spend much on the adults, but the fun gifts are something we can open and laugh at when we get them. We all have stockings, and I love getting a bath bomb, or a pen, or a lovely pair of warm gloves. This year we will limit the amount of presents we get for my granddaughter (she says and then the room is covered in paper).

This time of year is always about family because we have birthdays galore. I share mine with my sister-in-law, and my brother’s birthday is in November. We always see each other before Christmas. It is our tradition, and my sister-in-law always puts on a great spread.

Why I love this time of year, is being with my family and friends.
