I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

Thank you, I do feel like we are not doing enough. At work they stopped using plastic knives and forks because of the ban on one use plastics in the UK. They transferred to wooden, but without a proper recycling in the workplace, they just go in general rubbish. Even if there were a recycle bin to put them in it would be better.
Like this very much. We can’t order our planet around. We need to be thinking what we can do about the problems we have created ourselves.
But you said it so meaningfully. 🙂
Global warming is becoming more real each day. We are in October, yet the temperature this weekend will be 25 degrees. We all know about plastic, but we are still making things. Surely we can reuse what we have. I try my best, and don’t use plastic bags any more, unless I forget to bring my own. I think they should stop making them.
Yes, sad but true. And unfortunately I am one of those pessimists who believes now it’s too late for preventing climate change and it’s a matter of dealing with the consequences… which isn’t any easier, even though it might seem this way. I mean, some skeptics might use my logic as an excuse not to do anything about the climate at all, but learning to adapt to a changing climate is at least as hard as preventing it from further spiraling out of control.

I agree. We AREN’T doing enough, no way near. And whatever little is being done is not making much of a difference in the overall picture.

We try to reuse the plastic bags. It would be nice if some stores would give a small discount if you bring your own bags. Maybe some do. 🙂

It is, I am between the two. I do think there is irreversible damage, but there are things we can change.
