Fibbing Friday 13th October

Posted on October 13, 2023 by pensitivity101

Hello and welcome to Fibbing Friday, a fun challenge where truth is not an option.
I’m inviting you to be outrageous, silly, cheeky, or whatever takes your fancy (as long as you keep it family friendly) and fib your socks off when answering the ten questions set below.
You can join in by writing a post with your answers and tag it #FibbingFriday.
If you use WordPress, pingbacks are enabled but aren’t always working so double up and leave a link to your post in the comments as well for others to read. Also have a read of other bloggers posts if you can spare the time as some of them are terrific.
Bear in mind though that they are usually approved manually, so don’t be surprised if the link doesn’t show immediately as I may be late accessing my blog.

It’s Friday the 13th, the second one of 2023 (first was in January).
These are questions from other Friday 13
th Fibbing Fridays so hopefully my answers will be different this time!

1. How many years bad luck do you get if you break a mirror? It depends on the mirror. A bathroom mirror is the traditional seven years, and a hallway mirror is fourteen. If you break a mirror on your wedding day, it will be for how long the marriage lasts.
2. What shouldn’t you walk under? An low flying pigeon – it is all the bread in their diet.
3. Why are black cats crossing your path considered unlucky? All black cats are difficult to see in the dark, and you might trip over them. You will end up with a broken leg, and the cat is never the same again.
4. Why do we wear a wedding ring on the third finger of the left hand? When you get married, it is bad luck to break a mirror. Wearing it on that finger lifts the curse of the mirror (if you’re lucky).
5. Why is it unlucky to open an umbrella indoors? The leprechaun inside the house can get inside the umbrella and the next rainfall, you will be showered with unlucky clovers.
6. Why do we cross our fingers for good luck? It is good luck for the fingers to be touching and you can have seven years without walking near a black cat.
7 . Why do we throw some over our shoulder if we spill salt? It leaves a trail for the leprechaun to follow if it gets lost.
8. Why is wearing green at a wedding considered unlucky? It reminds the bride of the moment she broke the mirror.
9. What is signified by itchy hands? You’ve been walking through too many nettles.
10. Why do we cover our mouths when we yawn? In case a fairy flies inside our mouth. Once that happens, bad luck will always follow. The only way to reverse the curse is to yawn on Friday 13th. That way the fairy leaves and your bad luck is turned into diamonds.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
