Expensive

  1.   What is your favourite dessert? As a hot dessert, I love treacle pudding with lots of custard. I could easily eat a whole one on my own. Cold, it has to be cheesecake. Again, I couldn’t stop at one slice.
  2.   Do you still use cash to pay for goods? Sometimes, but most times I use my debit card.
  3.   Apart from a house, car or holiday, what is the most expensive thing you’ve  purchased? Christmas tends to be when I spend a lot of money. I spent one hundred and twenty pounds on a fish tank. In a few weeks my granddaughter will get the tropical fish to go with it. It is more difficult for my grandson, as being sixteen, they are not sure what they want. I am going to buy him some JD vouchers, so he can buy his own present.
  4.   If you are going out for a special occasion, what is your favoured outfit? I wear things that are comfortable. There isn’t one outfit I wear. There are a few skirts, or tops I wear. At a wedding, I wore a dress, which was last brought for a wedding. It cost me sixty pounds, and It was a waste to buy a new one, just for a day.

I am grateful, I have a home to live in, enough clothes to wear, and I don’t go hungry. There are many people without any of these. I might not be rich, or have lots of money in the bank, but I am safe.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Do you have consignment shops where you are, where you can sell the clothes you no longer need? They seem to be popular around here for women’s dresses. You get money, someone else gets the dress you aren’t wearing. Sounds like a great idea…
