1. Cock-a-leekie – Before its’ dawn chorus, a cockerel needs to take a leek.
2. Baked Alaska – It is a type of baked potato, with ice-cream on the top. You have to eat it quick, or it melts.
3. Toad in the hole – Toad of Toad Hall is always getting into some sort of hole (trouble).
4. Boeuf Bourguignon – A skunk’s night out ends up with a fist fight.
5. Quiche Lorraine – You ask Lorraine Chase what type of quiche she wants at Luton Airport. If you’re too young, just Google her name.
6. Chicken Chasseur – A dance move used by chickens.
7. Creole Succotash – It is the way Elvis Presley moves his hips. His fans thought he was saying ”thank you very much”, but it was really succotash.
8. Pan di Rosmarino – A dish made with Rosemary, made in a saucepan. This mixture is put in an quiche. It is Lorraine’s favourite.
9. Instant Whip – A spell created so eggs whip themselves into a cake mixture. It saves whisking by hand.
10. Loukoumades – ‘Look Ma, I’ve just made a quiche’, said Lorraine, when she made her signature dish for the first time.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
