In my arms for the first time

knowing that you were mine

life couldn’t have been more fine

Proud to be a mum.

The first time you talked

That first tottering walk

I watched you like a hawk

To keep you safe.

With a child of your own

My love for you has grown

and you have shown

you are proud to be a mum.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
