1. Do you enjoy or get frustrated with the run up to the festive holidays? I look forward to the holiday season, and finding something special to make my loved one’s smile. I brought them with the person in mind. Although, as they get older, it is more difficult. I am told not to, but I love giving presents. My granddaughter has many gifts. My grandson, sixteen, has game cards so he can purchace his own.
2. Do you like family gatherings? Yes, I love getting together with my brother, nieces and nephews. We have a laugh while eating cheese and pineapple on sticks, sausage rolls, and mulled wine.
3. What is your favourite family memory? Going to my aunties. Christmas Evening was her speciality and everyone was welome. She was a superb cook and her food was amazing. Even if we had double helpings of turkey, we still found room for more. It was the only time we didn’t play poker. Another recollection of mine, but not linked with this time of year. We played charades, drank too much (adults only) and there was a lot of laughter.
4. Do you prefer to be a host or visitor for a special occasions? A guest because there is less stress. When we go to my daughter’s on the 25th, her partner serves up a feast. His honey carrots, along with pigs in blankets, sprouts, roast potatoes, mash, are extremely tasty. On Boxing Day, my husband gets worked up because he doesn’t think it is as good. I disagree, and we eat well on both days.
My gratitude is having my children celebrate with me. I understand others aren’t so lucky. I am able to watch my granddaughter reveal her myriad of presents.
We are safe, loved, and that is all that matters in life.
Merry Christmas Diana! I’m so glad you can spend time with your family!

Lovely post Diana. Thank you for sharing your world. Family gatherings were frequent when my parents were alive. Now we are all scattered and exchange Christmas cards, but little else. Enjoy your festivities
