Happy

This week for https://lindaghill.com/2024/02/16/the-friday-reminder-and-prompt-for-socs-feb-17-2024/

I am of the generation where we snapped with cameras and compiled them into albums. I also have a tin, which was holds all of mum’s. Originally a toy, I recollect looking through it when I visited. Black and white, colour. Each is someone I wouldn’t want to forget. A grandmother when she was older (I never met her). Multiple snaps of my aunties and uncles. Sitting on deckchairs, making sandcastles and jumping on a trampoline. Some I would prefer never to be seen again. Bad haircuts, she was never great at fringes.

I still save physical copies.

My granddaughter, with her grumpy (granddad). Pictures of Mum and Dad. My aged pup, watching over us. A painting sized image of me, my husband, Titan, and Lily when she was a baby. Me, my brother and sister, at her birthday in pride of place.

We don’t keep them anymore, and our mobile stores all those treasured recollections. What would happen if we lost access to this technology? There are records, but only in the cloud.

Living in a more digital age will no doubt decrease the need for paper printouts. Our humanity is something unique.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
