Knitting

Are there any hobbies or pastimes that you have abandoned that you occasionally consider taking up again? If so, do you actually try it again, or does something keep you from giving it another go?

As my granddaughter neared the moment of being born, I began knitting. My aunties could watch television and make jumpers. Me? Not so good. The majority of items I made included blankets, hats, a creepy doll, a cute monster, dog proof baubles, and knitted food. I attempted to knit socks, but I found the needles I used to be complicated.

I’m not sure I would pursue it again, unless my daughter gets pregnant, or my son finds a girlfriend.

In my childhood, I had a passion for ballroom. I won a silver medal for the Cha-cha-cha. My sister-in-law hand sewed a posh frock – blue with layers of lace. At eight, I stopped because they wanted me to dance with a five-year-old boy. The idea of joining a club has crossed my mind as I would love to learn.

My hobbies come and go. I engaged in activities such as painting by numbers, diamond art, and Sudoku. I enjoy keeping busy, and even when I am at home, I cannot stand to be sitting still doing nothing.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
