1. What do you miss most, if anything, about your school days? Nothing much, although I had a brilliant group of friends especially my bestie Theresa. We have been friends for forty six years.
2. Did your school have its own sports field or swimming pool? We had a swimming pool, but we only used it for activities during the summer holiday. We had a sports field, and I detested running the hundred meters because I always developed a stitch.
3. What was your favourite day in the school week? Had to be a Friday.
4. Did you have one teacher for a variety of subjects, or separate teachers for each? In infants and juniors, we had the same one for each subject. There was a married couple, Mr and Mrs Bobbett. They were kind, and the type you could speak to easily. As we moved up, they changed.
In secondary, each subject contained several teachers. For math, a scary Scotsman. Me and my dearest friend burst into fits of giggles and I recall being sent to the deputy head. One hundred lines later, we never did it again. For music, Mrs Hazzard. She was this both in nature and as a person. She rapped me over the knuckles with a ruler to ask another student for a rubber (in the USA it is an eraser) in my first lesson. I refused to cry; I was in her club and learnt to play the recorder and sing in a choir.
My gratitude is the education I received. I am lucky because girls across the world do not have the chance to learn.
Wonderful share, Diana.
I loved high school. Still hang out with many friends from then. Hard to believe it’s been 48 since I met some of them!

I loved infant and secondary school. Junior school, and I was bullied, so wouldn’t go back there. Although the school has since been knocked down.

Oh, that is too bad. I was very lucky and the bullying I got was in elementary school but it was minimal once my sports prowess became known!
