We are hydra headed to a water shortage in some parts of the world. I like in the UK, and it isn’t something we worry about. Today is one of the driest and most of our summer has rain. I grew up watching shows about people who aren’t as fortunate.
Sometimes we only watch from the side lines, and scenes of suffering will shock the nation. We quickly forget when it’s not making headlines. Wealthy countries could contribute more, but most don’t. I believe there needs to be further education, because if we were aware, we would do more. It is important, because if we were the country in trouble, wouldn’t we seek help?It is similar when we hear about the tragedy of migrants losing their lives when trying to find a new home because theirs is dangerous. It would be our desire to do the same. There was a program on a few months ago about a family in Wales being displaced, and being treated unfairly by those who lived in England. I considered our reaction when other humans hope for refuge and learnt a valuable lesson.
If my granddaughter was in a war zone, I would hope for fair treatment, to help her stay safe.
You are searching for humanity amongst politics and economics.

It is difficult to reason with those in power.

As I read somewhere that the problem here is not the shortage of resources but the inequitable distribution of resources.

I agree, there needs to be more care of those less fortunate.
