Safe on the carpet,
curious about your adventures
Recollecting more than I learnt at school.
Stood at the window
sharing my fears about life
Keeping in mind your sensible view.
Tears as you left us
a journey I couldn’t take part in
A tight hold on to your St Christopher
Sat on the sofa,
sharing my experiences
remembering your gentle smile.
What a touching remembrance. The feeling that wrote the line, “a journey I couldn’t take part in” I know only too well. Thank you for sharing this tender memory.
