Patience; seven months will hurry by.
This week at work, they were asking for voluntary redundancies. I am planning to retire next year, and thought I would look into it. The amount isn’t enough, and I would spend most of it just in the cost of living.
I am planning on retiring next year anyway; Am I disappointed it wasn’t more? Yes. I do love supporting students, who wouldn’t normally have a voice, but the work can be both physically and mentally tiring.
However, in four weeks we have the summer holidays. When I return to work it will only be another three months. At least this way, when I do make the decision to finally leave it will be at the right moment for me.
wise decision to wait it out đź’ś

I took redundancy rather than go with the job in 2001. Although the company would cover our legal and moving expenses, there was no salary increase incentive, Hubby would have had to find a job, and house prices were beyond us. The redundancy package and my loyalty bonus of ÂŁ6000 (that bit was taxable) cleared half my mortgage. You have to do what you think is right for you.

I took redundancy from the post office twenty years before and it was right, but this didn’t feel right.
