When I was little I went to a restaurant called the Golden Egg. They served delicious pancakes on silver dishes, covered in golden syrup. I can taste them now.
I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

The other night I randomly made pancakes for dinner, I just had a craving!
Pancakes and syrup reminds me of my grandmother’s farmhouse kitchen – she used to pour special people-shaped pancakes for us little ones, they looked just like gingerbread men except they were pancakes and we always ate them warm, fresh off the griddle with Lyle’s golden syrup – yum!

I agree, I love adding rasberries and strawberries to my pancakes. On holiday once, they served it with double cream.
