Watch The Parade

Today is Remembrance Sunday, and I always watch the parade. My dad was a paratrooper in the second world war, and my father-in-law, in the the Green Howards.

When I was young Dad never missed a Remembrance Sunday. I saw the emotion, as he thought about his friends, who weren’t so lucky. He wrote a diary, but sadly I never got to see his words, as it got lost in move.

Hero gave freedom

Never forgot sacrifice

of his brave friends

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
