My Year Blessed

Written for https://pensitivity101.wordpress.com/2025/12/29/share-your-world-29th-december/

1.  Do you stay up to toast in the New Year? I stay up until midnight, and like to see in the new year with my grown up children, and grandchildren. We normally play a board game, and have a laugh to see in the new year. We watch all the fireworks, and then walk home. Although, this year, when I get home I am going to watch the final episode of Stranger Things.

2.  Have you ever kept any New Year Resolutions made in the past? I have made the same ones for a few years, keep in contact with family more, eat less, sort my house out. For the last couple of years I haven’t because I never keep them.

3.  Do you have any plans for 2026? I am finally getting a new kitchen. My old one is lost in the seventies, and it has been exciting and stressful choosing the units I want. In March I am going to Sorrento, Italy. It will be my first time on an airplane, and I will be searching the clouds from above.

4.  What was the highlight/s of 2025 for you. Going on holiday, and staying in a holiday let, and observing the sea every morning from the kitchen window. I love spending time with my family and there were many memories made. We collected sea glass in the evenings, and day trips during the day. I turned 60 this year, and the surprise gift of a holiday was definitely a highlight. Seeing my brother at Christmas, and spending time with loved ones, and our yearly present swap. Remembering our big sister, and knowing she is watching over her family.

I am grateful because I never went hungry last year, my family are safe, healthy, and I know I am loved. Happy New year to you lovely bloggers, and I hope to see your brilliant posts next year.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
