Open Crevices

A lifetime of memories soared through the open crevices of the derelict theatre.

Once this dome held the rapture of an audience. Pictures cherished the walls as the Roman Empire reigned across Europe. All their modern roads led her to this dream holiday.

Sarah stepped back into the Cyprus trees. The bright green leaves leant towards the sky as if they were in prayer.

The drizzle of England evaporated and left the dry heat of this beautiful country to heal her mind. She leaned on Simon’s shoulder and couldn’t stop smiling. It was her first trip abroad, and she wanted to take in every minute detail. From the flight, where each pillow cloud enveloped her in protection, to the grand hotel room, with a sea view.

She almost didn’t want to go home.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
