Great Job

Written for https://weeklyprompts.com/2026/03/21/weekly-prompts-weekend-challenge-tunnel/

Every time I turn on the news, there is a new worry to think about.

I remember my dad telling me, when I was younger, that to not worry about things beyond our control. The world is beyond my control, but the love I feel for my family isn’t.

There is a light at the end of a tunnel – a cliché but true. We often focus on the worst things that can happen and not in the good we have in our lives. I am proud of being a mum. From bringing up my children, with the support of my husband, to watching them grow. As a grandmother, I see the great job my daughter is doing.

Today I have walked my dog, in the warm sunshine.

Yesterday I spent time with my daughter and granddaughter.

Tomorrow I will be happy for a brand new morning full of opportunities.

Let’s live life with friends.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
