I bookmark my trip to Sorrento. From the lemon trees, tasting limoncello for the first time and finding out how it is made (90% proof alcohol, lemon rind, five hundred grams of sugar and one month to brew) to tasting the product. Easy right.
Perfect with lemonade as a spritz, but it is stronger than it tastes.
During the tour they showed us how the trees grow; you carve notches in the branch, attach four shoots, cover with a mesh, and nature does the rest. You are not allowed to take the lemons or you risk being fined. Lemons grow on the same tree as oranges.
We have much to learn from nature.
We ended our tour with a plate of Italian bread with honey, home-made marmalade, jam, and cheese. It was enough to eat; not too heavy. We also drank a shot glass of my new favourite drink and a cream version. Both delightful. When we went shopping the shops were also handing out free tasters. I brought myself a spritz and I think I was a little drunk lol.
sounds like you had a brilliant time in Italy! I’m really pleased for you!
