I will not be posting for a week as I am going on holiday tomorrow. An early start, and we are travelling to Dorset. It will be lovely to be near the beach and with my family. Post more when I get back.

Leftovers
Written for https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/tag/word-of-the-day/ ‘I’m calling a department meeting, as I believe there are supplies being stolen from the floor.’ Alan, tall for his age, in wheelie trainers, stared up at the culprits. The staff all looked at each other, their bags heavy and grinned. It wasn’t their fault they threw the remnants out at theContinue reading “Leftovers”
Mum
Written for https://girlieontheedge1.wordpress.com/2024/08/07/its-thursdays-six-sentence-story-link-up-102/ Sorry I am a little late to the party. Mum’s number on speed dial. I rang at the same time every night. On the days I didn’t see her; seven o’clock wasn’t a fright. I miss those conversations – where we put the world to rights. Is Mum’s heaven number on speedContinue reading “Mum”

Do you like decorating or would you prefer to have someone come in and do it for you if you could afford it? I don’t mind, and decorated most of my house when we moved out six years ago. Face
Written for https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/category/what-do-you-see/ Feel my face in a mask of green gold, sometimes I lose my faith in the mould. Touch my tears Trailing from tired eyes, sometimes I lose my clown disguise. Hear my thoughts black as a starless night, sometimes I lose and its flight or fight See my fears, write them downContinue reading “Face”
Routine
Written for https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/category/sunday-poser/ I sleep fairly well. It is helpful to have a routine, and avoid caffeine at night. Although I don’t always get that right. During the last few weeks, it is difficult to drift off, because of the humidity in the air. I like a cover over me, and couldn’t because it wasContinue reading “Routine”
Nemesis
Written for https://fivedotoh.com/2024/08/04/fowc-with-fandango-coaster/ My first roller coaster, I experienced was in Dreamland, was on my holiday to Margate. My Dad sat next to me, and I had a sense of security, even though there was only a bar to stop us falling out. At the fun fair, me and my bestie used to choose theContinue reading “Nemesis”

Unholy Murder by Lynda La Plant is the latest book I have gone through this year. Jane Tennison investigates a cold case. During building work, they discovered a coffin with the body of a nun. The only clue to her name is a cross she is wearing. Her bosses think it is too late toContinue reading “Book Review – Unholy Murder”
