From Tourmaline’s Halloween Challenge

Thankfully Rory is okay with meeting later. As promised I stay at home with Charlie. We busily spend the day getting our cottage ready. By the middle of the night, everything is done.

Cobwebs in corners, rats in holes, and our ancient owl in the window. We’ve had our stuffed owl since my mother was a junior witch. It brings good luck to the house, and lets all ghouls know it is a safe place to rest.

It really feels like Halloween now.

My thoughts turn to the party, which is only in a few days. I can’t wait. Up until now I have been very nervous. This is the first party in two years. What if they don’t like the food? What if nobody comes?

Charlie hopes not too many attend, she has never much been great around company. I’m different, I just want to see everyone have fun, and see all Hallows Eve in together.
