A Conscious Stream

”How on earth did you manage that?”

To be honest, Sally wasn’t sure, but there was tomato ketchup all over the carpet, and glass everywhere. The last thing she was sure of was the blinding headache before she lost grip of the bottle.

”Another headache?”

It was better to be honest, but she didn’t want to worry anyone with migraines. She suffered from them since she was a child. Stress was the biggest factor, but there was no stress in her life.

Apart from the headaches that was.

”Go to the doctor, they might be nothing, but then they might be something.”

”You’re watching too much Grey’s Anatomy. I’ve always suffered with migraines, they’re caused by stress.”

”Still, it won’t hurt to go. I mean the carpet looks like a crime scene, and if I hadn’t shown up when I did . . . Look, I’ll make the call now.”

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
