‘Don’t you know that in any investigation you should listen to the little old lady and her theories?’ Detective Davidson said, looking down at the dead body.’
A little shocked, her colleague wasn’t sure what was meant by that, but he wasn’t about to get advice off a woman old enough to be his grandmother. She was at the edge of the crime scene, talking about the lack of footprints to the body. She kept on about the staircases at the back of the flats. but they would have to be super human to climb those.
‘What does she know, and what is she doing here anyway?’
‘She’s part of the old girls and boys part of the met, she was quite the detective in her time. Solved the Parris murder case a few years ago, with nothing more than a piece of half eaten pie, and a tennis shoe.’
‘Alright,’ he said. ‘So give me your theory, how did this suspect climb a six foot ladder without anyone seeing them escape?’
