I’m a Cat

The writing prompt from https://mindlovemiserysmenagerie.wordpress.com/ and a list of words to use on national cat day andhttps://fivedotoh.com/2023/03/31/fandangos-flashback-friday-march-31st/

Softly Nyya cleaned her fangs, ready for her night time adventure. The overcast weather suited her well, and her consumption of cat food meant she had the energy to run. She was the star of her own show, and followed the light of the window, but it was freezing tonight.

Gone were the leafy trees; bald in the moonlight. Most of her prey were hiding in the shadows, waiting for her to go home. Ahh, that comfy bed, the colour of strawberry milkshake.

The old adage of a cat being predatory, especially at the ripe old age of thirteen, was too much effort these days. She held her head up high, and marched back into the house, where a wall of heat warmed her fur.

Tonight she would stay home, and leave the hunt for another, younger cat.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
