Coffee Questions

01Do you sometimes ‘just’ LIKE posts from those you follow but don’t often read the content, and if so, why do you do this? I will read most posts, but when they are long, I do tend to skim read the rest.

Is it a time restraint or something else that motivates this action? It is more to do with being tired when I am reading it, not because it is badly written, just I am so sleepy I struggle with longer pieces.
02What do you do with gifts you have received but have no use for? No, there has always been a use.

03Have people become lazier concerning cooking do you think, or is it more a case of people not knowing how to cook? I am not a good cook, and my husband cooks most of my meals.

Is cooking considered a valuable skill by you? Yes, but only if my husband cooks.
04What news stories, in your opinion, have so far defined the 2020’s and what do you think they have taught us personally as individuals? Covid, although now it feels surreal, especially when we don’t really care about it.
05What would you never swallow even if you could? Liver, yuck.
06How many hours of sleep do you get a night, and how many hours do you think you need and why? I normally get about eight hours sleep.
07How important is it to you to have a clean house or environment to live in and does it have to be pristine? I try to have a clean house, but when you are working full time it is difficult. My hubby looks after our granddaughter in the week. Hurricane Lillith tends to leave chaos in my front room.
08Could you give up your Smartphone and break your addiction to it? No, it is the only way to keep in contact with my family.
09What have been five of your best TV shows from the dawn of dot to today?
Starsky and Hutch, Chips, K9, Call the Midwife, and Wednesday (on Netflix)
Why were they good? I love all detective programmes, but Starsky and Hutch was the first show I couldn’t stop watching. Chips, I watched because of my love of the main actors. Call the Midwife, because it was based on a true story, and I loved the book. Wednesday because it is dark, and funny all at the same time. My favourite scene in the series, Wednesday, with Piranhas, saying ”Only I can torment my brother”.
10Why is life not a bed of roses but a bed of thorns? It’s life!

What makes your life good and or bad?
Life is full of good and bad, so we need to ride out that storm.
11Toasted waffles or toasted bread, and why? Toasted waffles because they can be sweet.
12How do you feel about the ageing process and you? I’m terrified, especially since I am nearer 60 than 50.
13What is the last rebellious thing you did? I went on a virtual skydiving experience.
14What would be your ideal ‘you experience’ of the following …. museum, theatre, spa day, bungee jumping? Theatre, I would love to see a show.
15Could you easily step off the planet and away from society and your friends and being social and also away from the Internet for 12 months? Internet possibly. Sometimes I can be bored of social, and like my own company, but not for 12 months.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Call the Midwife, and Wednesday – I just recently [last week] finished watching Wednesday and absolutely loved it and am eager for season 2. suze [other half] watches Call the Midwife and loves it and l remember watching chips as a kid as well as S&H as a teenager – all good series. Not heard of K9.

Wow, how does virtual skydiving work? are you wearing those glasses and in an open spaced room?

Yes it is strange how with the news as it has been – covid has become a thing of the past yet is still very present like Ukraine, still there, but once we got past the sabre rattling in February and realised we weren’t all going to die in a ball of flame, like many other stories that has joined the arena of the surreal – we no longer are bothered.

i am with you, waffles all the way, although l am introducing bread again after five years without.

Ain’t this the truth … Life is full of good and bad, so we need to ride out that storm.

Nicely answered questions Diana, many thanks 🙂

  2. K9 is an American show about a detective and his partner (who is a dog) I am rather addicted to detective shows. It is a blast of air, based indoors, and you float on the air. I wore virtual reality glasses, which made it seem all the more real. I want to do a real sky dive one day. Yes, Covid pales into nothing when you are faced with war.
