Mother’s Love

A poem for http://lindaghill.com/2023/02/03/the-friday-reminder-and-prompt-for-socs-feb-4-2023/ and https://sammiscribbles.wordpress.com/2023/02/04/weekend-writing-prompt-297-key/

Mother’s Love

You hold the key to my heart,

I’ve watched you both grow,

from children to adults now

Journeying across your own path.

Now, one of you holds

the key to her heart,

watching your own child grow,

from a baby, to a toddler.

Years may fly by, and one day she

will be a teenager, then an adult,

going on a journey all of her own.

To follow a happy heart.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
