Golden Glow

A golden glow, and charging the orb seemed more of an issue than he first thought. It was okay, the manufacturers told the public, it would never lose charge. No matter where you went, its battery would never run out. A great idea, however, the dangers were immense.

It was safe enough when you were outside, but inside, amongst all the other technology, it had a habit over getting too hot. To keep it safe, it needed to be kept in a cool ice bath.

The trouble was, the temperature was over fifty-five degrees.

It was said, before the ozone collapsed, people didn’t have to live in bubbles.

Typing in the pass code, he held the orb outside the window. A fresh, mechanical breeze, wafted. WIFI, and he still only had three bars, he needed at least six to make his call. Perhaps, he could use his old mobile. It didn’t have all the gadgetry, but at least he could search on Google without blowing up.
