Onion is Golden

Inspiration from my poem is the humble onion and #99 word stories from Carrot Ranch.

Golden onion, a humble beginning, growing under the ground,

So many dishes you just make better

just by being there. The burger in a roll, fried and so neat,

or in a spaghetti bolognaise, you cannot be beat.

In sauces, we cannot see your glow,

From the taste, we all know

you’re there. In a salad nothing is bland.

Golden onion, you add texture, taste

to any meal.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
