I’m No Mutt

I’m not a mutt, like they say, I am a dog with many breeds.

There are many types of dog, more than there used to be. Some, they mix together on purpose. For instance a Shottie – German Shephard and Rottweiler, or a Bogle – Beagle and Boxer.

But mutts are just as good, sometimes places like Battersea have more breeds there than us. We don’t stay puppies all the time, and you have to love us when we are small, and when we grow big.

That’s what I want, a forever home. I watch as people walk past our cages, and I give my best whimper. Is that why you chose me? I licked your hand, barked like you had chicken, not a dog treat in your hand.

Now I am home, in my new bed, with a couple of pals to play with.

I’m not a mutt, my name is Mike.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
