Earning Trust

This week https://jimadamsauthordotcom.wordpress.com/2023/04/06/thursday-inspiration-203-waiting-on-a-friend/ has prompted us to think about a song linked to the word lady.

Silver lady, sang by David Soul is a about a man, who after letting a woman down, wants her to take him back. I had his record, as I was a big Starsky and Hutch fan. Sometimes it is more important to show the change, rather than telling her to take him at his word. Trust is something women, and men, should earn, rather than a promise said in haste because he is lonely.

Tired of drifting, searching, shifting through town to town
Every time I slip and slide a little further down
I can’t blame you if you won’t take me back
After everything I put you through
But honey you’re my last hope
And who else can I turn to

Come on Silver Lady take my word
I won’t run out on you again believe me
Oh, I’ve seen the light
It’s just one more fight
Without you
Here I am a million miles from home
The Indiana wind and rain cut through me
I’m lost and alone, chilled to the bone
Silver Lady

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
