Another book, from my second hand haul from Tesco.
A charity bookcase, where avid readers can swap books, while giving money for charity. I would love to buy new books, but sometimes the forgotten reads can be just as good.
Dead Embers starts with the homicide of two detectives (husband and wife). Their three year old daughter survives the fire. DCI Lambert has anti-corruption looking into the possible links to the victims. However it is soon clear that the bodies found are not the parents.
An online suicide pact, corruption, a fire starter with a conscience and a believable cast, makes this book a brilliant read. I now want to read one and two in the book series to see if there were any clues to the final outcome.
I love how the female characters in this book are part of the leading force to catch whoever was in charge. Sometimes epilogues do nothing for the ending, however this ending was deserved.
Any thriller fans would love to read this.
I love thrillers. This one sounds absolutely gripping 🙂

It is, and the clues were there for the ending, and I missed them.
