‘Mum, can you not see your projection for our holiday agreement will not work. For a start, what is this pottery painting you are so excited about. Maybe when I was three, but I’m sixteen this year.’

‘Well, what do you suggest? I see nightclubbing is on your list. I am getting too old for all that prancing about. Besides, the last time I was in heels, I broke my leg,’ her mum said.

‘I can’t see any problem with a good dance,’ Grannie said, pausing the mouse over the bright lights. ‘Reminds me of when I met your Grandpa.’

‘Well, I want to go pottery painting, I find it relaxing.’

‘So, how about a compromise. If we go to the club, it’s 90’s night soon. Very much your era Mum. Then the next day we could do some painting. I know your want to add to your Pokémon collection. I suppose I could paint a Snorlax, they are kind of cool.’

‘As long as we can fit in a cream tea, that’s a plan.’

‘Well, that’s all done then, see you later, I have a hot date,’ Grannie said.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
