Today for PROMPT WORD:  BOX

‘We got to think of our toy box,’ Tatty Ted said. ‘Mary is getting a lot older now. She has started wearing make-up. Pretty soon we will be relegated to the bag under her bed.’

‘I haven’t lost my position on the pillow yet,’ Willow said, fluffing up his long ears.

‘So why were you on the floor this morning, look we have to do something.’

Old Ted, with one of his ears patched up, gave a sad shake of his head, and said, ‘It happens, they grow up, but what you have to think of is, even if the worst happens and we get sent to the charity shop, there are plenty of other children – the ones who cannot afford to buy new; we can give them just as much happiness – that’s what thinking out of the box means.’

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
