I have a problem, and a bit of a rant, about energy companies. They do not listen. My brother-in-law died in May. He left a bit of an electric bill, which had been estimated most of the time he was there. In hospital since July 2022, he wasn’t even in his flat. In January he moved to a care home because he couldn’t look after himself.
The bill is a large one, but when I gave them the actual reading their immediately said it was wrong, even when the person in charge of the sheltered accommodation gave me the reading.
It is a lot less, and that is why it is in dispute.
Their bereavement team, are not great.
I think, if this is that much of a problem to them, they need to do another reading. I wouldn’t mind, but if there are not any funds to cover this bill, they will get nothing anyway, as the debt cannot be transferred.
Sorry about the rant.
Some energy companies just don’t want to know other than getting money out of their customers and make up the rules as they go along.

They do, but I will make sure they don’t.

Good for you! We have just read that our supplier has to give all their customers an £8 refund on their bill for poor customer service. No idea when though LOL
