I have been writing since I was eight years old and there have always been times where I have suffered with self doubt. I’m not sure how much easier it is with my novel, as there is a clear goal to what I am writing.
When I first started blogging, writing short stories were a little weird to write. Two years later, and I am a little more confident, but self doubt will always be there. Part of the problem is, there is little time to edit my writing. When I write a longer piece of writing, there are many processes I go through with editing.
It is slightly different when I am writing on my blog.
There is self doubt, and at times it does stop creativity. More because the writer wants it to be perfect and when it isn’t, then we get annoyed with ourselves. Hemmingway said ”everyone’s first draft is rubbish”, but as writers we all want it to be.
We are all creative, supportive of other writers, and just need to show the same kindness with our own writing.

In agreement. Hard to overcome that self doubt sometimes. Then I get a new idea and am back writing again.
