Is this Normal?

Here are this week’s questions https://pensitivity101.wordpress.com/2023/08/14/share-your-world-14th-august/

1.  Do you use a feather duster for cleaning? No, if I clean I use a normal duster. I have more energy to clean my daughter’s house than my own.
2.  Do you use a washing liquid, ‘ball’ thingie or washing powder? I use the pods and put one in the machine. My son and his friend always buy a large pack. We use anything, especially if it is doesn’t cost much money.
3.  Do you own anything that has to be hand washed? Not really, it all goes in the machine. I put my husband’s suit on a wool wash the other day, and it survived.
4.  Do you use, or have you ever used, a laundry service? I only go to the launderette when I have no washing machine. I always put it in the machine, in one big bundle and dry it in the same way.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Thanks for joining in Diana. My mum used a laundry service for sheets and I remember collecting them . They were always wrapped in brown paper and tied with string. We use the launderette dryer if necessary in the winter, but wherever possible I try to get things dry outside. Dry cleaners were used for our coats and jackets, but now everything goes in the washing machine.

    1. The launderette was used when the washing machine broke down, but it was expensive. Especially the drier. I used the dry cleaners for suits and dresses but now, as you say, they go into the machine on a wool wash.

      1. The launderette here has got expensive with the hikes in electricity prices, though the driers are actually run off gas. We used to get 27 minutes for £1.70 which was sufficient to dry two of our machine loads. Now £1.70 buys you just ten minutes so we try not to use it unless we have no choice.
