  1.  How do you get on with your in-laws/partner’s family? I get on really well with my in-laws. When my mother-in-law was alive we were partners in crime. She had the same taste in alcohol as me. Part of it was, she only had boys, so I think she loved having a woman she could talk to. She was amazing, looking after my children when I went to work. She loved spending time with them and they were both close to her as a result.
  2.  What is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to you? I am a kind person, who will always make time for others.
  3.   What was your favourite ride/stall at a fun fair? My favourite ride is Nemesis. A ride where I feel completely safe and it goes upside down and one big loop. I don’t feel like I am falling out, and never really scream when I am on there. My least favourite, Rameses Revenge and Chessington. My legs were like jelly, even after I got off the ride. It didn’t help, on the big loop, like my body was being taken over by gravity.
  4.   Would you like to be a child growing up in today’s world? No, it is a dangerous place to be. If you are a victim of bullying, you can be bullied while in your own bedroom. Arguments can blow out of proportion, and adults can pose as being the same age. I worry for my granddaughter, and hope something is done about the negative side of social media before she is old enough to understand how upsetting it can all be.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Thanks for joining in Diana. Rides at the funfair when I was a kid were a lot different than they are now, and I liked the dodgems or ghost train. We went to Alton Towers when I worked for the bank and were probably the biggest kids there. Loved the log flume and got soaked! It was the same when Eurodisney opened and again we went with the bank and had a lot of fun.
So agree with you on your last answer. It is a worry for all parents/grandparents for the younger generations.
