Chilling

White, with black dots for eyes, and the Polar Bear in the tree observed the blanket of snow. Chilling in the branch, he didn’t want to move. The blazing sun mingled with the blue sky.

Natures way of bringing happiness to the day.

Hiding in plain sight, he loved that he was invisible. Nobody aware he was there, just silence. No screaming, just a child’s view on the day. There was nothing more perfect than waiting for the day to begin. The sun as a playdate, his paws melted into the durable wood.

An angel without wings, protecting those who couldn’t look after themselves. A confidence in their glance upwards. Was that a real bear? Did it move it’s paw as it melted? An amazing memory, where hope was stronger than fear. Nobody could hurt them. Life could be like the changing seasons; winter just as strong. A covering of white, so strong, it kept the plants safe from harm.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
