Ideal

QUESTIONS

Do you ever feel more excited about getting the package in the mail, rather than the item that’s in it? I rarely get a package in the mail. When it is close to my birthday, I would get excited about receiving one and what is inside. It shows how much someone is thinking of you to send it.

What is the difference between your ideal self and your real self? (i.e. what attribute or physical feature would allow you feel the ideal ‘you’?) My ideal self would have more confidence. My shyness isn’t obvious when I am behind a computer screen. Looking someone in the eyes is difficult for me – I think it has something to do with autism. There hasn’t been a diagnosis, but I show some traits. Also, if I were an ideal me, I would be more confident in believing in myself.

If you found £2,000 on the ground and there were no witnesses, what would you do with it? This is difficult because of the amount of money involved. If I found twenty pounds on the ground, and it was on its own, I would pick it up. If there was a wallet or a purse, I would locate the other person. Two thousand pounds is too much money just to take. I would go to the police and see if anyone had lost the money.

Are you ever morally obliged to take action? Under what circumstances? I would be obliged to take action if a child were being hurt. As a next-door neighbour, if I heard screaming. I would call the police. A few years ago, I saw three teenagers attack another child. I was concerned, called the police, but didn’t give my name. I just wanted to make them aware it was happening.
