Festive

You alright?’

‘Santa’s getting right on my nerves.’

‘What’s he done?’

‘I get that it is the festive period, but do we really have to wear all this green. It’s about time we were given the ability to update our image.’ Emily said.

Elliot wrapped his arms around his best friend, and couldn’t help but agree. The problem was the chubby one was slightly stuck in his ways. It was all the cookies he ate. Although, for a boss, he did allow them over two hundred days paid leave.

‘I tell you what, if you make him his favourite hot chocolate, with the marshmallows. Rudolph asked him last year to adjust his nose to yellow, and he told him to ask his friends to vote. True, most of the other reindeer laughed at him.’

‘I’m going to write him a letter,’ she stated, ‘he reads those twice.’

Elliot nodded, hoping Santa wouldn’t change a thing. He loved green, it made him think of Fir trees.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
